There was a time when Kevin’s future seemed uncertain. What should have been a normal journey through childhood and life became a painful battle against cancer. His condition had deteriorated significantly, leaving him in a critical state and placing both his health and future at great risk.
The photographs of Kevin before treatment tell a story that words alone cannot adequately describe. His physical condition was extremely worrying, while his family faced an overwhelming medical and financial burden. It was a difficult moment that called for urgent intervention, compassion and support from people of goodwill.
But even in the middle of this difficult journey, hope was not lost.
Through Wema Charity Foundation, Kevin’s story was shared, and an appeal for financial assistance was made to well-wishers, friends, partners and compassionate individuals.
The response demonstrated something beautiful about humanity: when people come together with a common purpose, lives can be changed.
People from different backgrounds contributed towards Kevin’s medical treatment. Every donation, regardless of its size, became part of a greater mission to give him another opportunity at life.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY: HOW YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS WERE USED
Through the generosity of our supporters, the following amount was raised and utilised:
- Total amount collected: KSh 420,000
- Hospital and medical bill: KSh 390,000
- Balance handed over to Kevin’s family: KSh 30,000
The remaining KSh 30,000 was handed directly to Kevin’s family to facilitate his weekly medical check-ups and continued monitoring of his recovery.
